Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) is making history as the first K-12 district in the United States to offer a Google-sponsored cybersecurity clinic. In partnership with the University of Arizona, this innovative program has enrolled approximately 100 students, who will complete their training independently. Upon successful completion, participants will earn an industry-recognized certification, preparing them for internships where they will gain hands-on experience conducting supervised cybersecurity assessments for various companies.
This initiative, led by Paul Wagner, director of ICDI's Cybersecurity Academy and the Arizona Cybersecurity Clinic at the College of Applied Science & Technology, directly addresses the critical workforce shortage in cybersecurity, a field currently facing a gap of several hundred thousand professionals.
