Artificial intelligence is here – how can we adapt?

Efforts and initiatives are underway at the University of Arizona to explore integrating artificial intelligence solutions into workflows and practices that prioritize data security and responsible use of the emerging technology.

With rapid advances in artificial intelligence, The University of Arizona is actively exploring how to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into its workflows while addressing concerns about data security and cost. Staff members are encouraged to embrace AI as it transforms the workplace and provides a competitive advantage in the job market. 
U of A experts, including ICDI's executive director Arthur "Barney" Maccabe and Ash Black, ICDI Director for AI and Industry emphasize that AI isn't replacing jobs and getting more comfortable using and adopting these technologies will enhance competitiveness. Initiatives include AI-driven tools like chatbots for policy guidance and instructional support. The university also offers workshops and resources to help employees adapt responsibly to AI's rapid advancements.
